How To Retrieve The Files You Thought Were Lost With Data Recovery Wizard
Data Recovery Wizard is proprietary software designed to retrieve files which the operating system is unable to find. While there are free software programs which can do the same thing , they are only really effective in simple situations, such as when someone has sent a file they wanted to the Recycle Bin, and then deleted it by mistake. The capabilities of Data Recovery Wizard go way beyond this, and they are capabilities you may well need if you have a more advanced problem.
There is nothing to stop you from downloading and trying a free software program first, provided you know how and where to download it. This part applies to all paid software, including Data Recovery Wizard, as well. The obvious course of action, that of downloading the software package to your hard drive, is actually the worst thing you can do. In fact, it could well be fatal to your data. When the operating system believes, for whatever reason, that a file has been deleted, it treats the space occupied by that file as being empty.
If you then download fresh data onto your system, the operating program may well permanently overwrite your old data with the new information. The only way you can avoid this possibility is by having the software you need on an external drive, and running it from there. To get it on to the external drive in the first place, you will need to download it to another computer and then move it across. Don't skip this step, or you could lose everything.
If you are worried about the possibility of buying proprietary software, only to find that it does not do the job it was intended to do, you can download the free version first. This will be able to analyze the situation for you, and tell you exactly what the program proper will be able to do. As the capabilities of this software are the fullest of any data recovery program, there is a very good chance that you will be able to save your data. If this does not look likely, you can delete the free version and you have lost nothing.
The Data Recovery Wizard software can retrieve files from situations where the Recycle Bin has been emptied, and also from more difficult situations such as when there is a software crash or unexpected shutdown of the operating system. It is at its most effective when there has been a partition lost or deleted. The files which will not show up in the operating system can be hard to locate, but this software can do it. Just be sure to save the recovered file to an external drive before you attempt to put it back on the original. Don't risk losing again the files you have recovered with Data Recovery Wizard.
